ZZ4 for 2005-season -Page 2 !
Here you can see that the engine is nearly finished , and it is ready to go into engine bay. All the work is done by myself except the engine bore and balancing. It was quite an experience for me to do this , as I had little experience in this. However , I have changed engines myself 2 times before , and the first time I needed some help too... So; If you intend to do this yourself , connect with a person with experience and tools. You will then learn this quite easily. First picture is showing roller rockers mounted with support bridges.. all "Crane" stuff. Next picture shows supercharger and water pump + ignition and alternator mounted. Of course , most of this had to be taken off when putting the engine in , but hey ; It is always better to check if things fit all right on beforehand....than afterwards down in a crammed engine compartment. Always do this and you check all the bolts'n nuts too.
On the next pictures you will see lowering the engine..As you can see , I had to remove one of the valve covers to get the engine UNDER the window wiper motor.....hehe. Anyway it went easily in place. (It takes time , though ! )
Well , many things are handmade. This Engine setup is not made for show but for race. So ; everything is made to avoid leaks , heat , breakage and so on.... Picture 2 : This is what I hope it will be lookin like in May 2005!
